Puppy Kindergarten: For puppies under 6 months old.
Now featuring the AKC’s new S.T.A.R. Puppy Program.
S.T.A.R. Puppy is open to all puppies, purebred or mixed breed.
Six week course*, once a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Fridays evenings.

Course focus is on bite inhibition, critical socialization and off-leash playtime.
Start teaching basic behaviors: sit, down, stand, come, loose-leash walking,
and more. Emphasis on preventing undesirable behavior from starting.
Each class has an accompanying homework sheet with additional information for maximum success.
Every graduate will be eligible to test for the AKC’s new S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. The test covers 20 points of good
ownership and foundational training. Once your puppy passes the test you can send for your S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate
and gold medal and puppy pack ($10 to the AKC).
Puppies are encouraged to return for repeat puppy courses to strengthen and proof behaviors. The importance of being
in class for advice to help through fear imprint periods and other learning stages cannot be stressed enough.
Juniors Class: For dogs over 6 months old.

Junior class is for dogs of all levels, from total beginner, graduates of puppy class, to seasoned obedience competitors.
Dogs are assessed and the lesson plan is individualized for each dog/owner according to their needs. Advanced dogs
work on proofing and extending behaviors through distractions, heel on a loose leash, focus on specific behaviors such
as aggression, fearful behavior, etc.
Each class has an accompanying homework sheet with additional information for maximum success.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Class:
Six week course* on Thursdays evenings. Call 360-693-4503 to sign up.

Prepare your dog to be an AKC Canine Good Citizen. This is open to all dogs,
purebred or mixed breed alike.
When you are ready, sign up with Connie for the CGC test. Upon passing the CGC
you may send for a certificate from the AKC for $5.
Wednesday Conformation Handling Class:
Instructors: Randy Benns & Lisa Haney
Drop-in class, no sign up required. Wednesday evenings 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Randy and Lisa prepare you and your dog for the show ring.
Lisa will post schedule changes/cancellations at Rugby Bulldogs.
Fee is $10 for adults, $5 for 4-H members/Junior handlers per session.
Pawsitive Pups 4-H Club:
The 4-H members are learning the basics about showing dogs and obedience contests. Responsibility, record-keeping,
breed identification, canine anatomy and "Dog Bowl" (trivia) are all part of the 4-H experience. Advanced members also
have the opportunity to try rally and agility. For school-age children.
Pawsitive Pups is co-lead by Katrina Kandoll, Connie Skinner and Carol Gerkin. Meets Monday evenings at MYM's facility.

More than training, Mind Your Manners also teaches management and a whole-dog,
whole-family approach to the health and well-being of your dog. You will learn about canine
body language, appropriate play styles and how to work with your dog instead of against your
dog. We focus on positive reinforcement training instead of punishment or pain-based methods.
Handlers of any age, size or strength can apply these dog-friendly, human-friendly methods.
